What’s inside your gym bag is almost as important as the workout itself. There are a few things every girl needs in her bag in order to transition from a workout class to your daily activities. Make sure your gym has a lot of pockets for ultimate storage. Mine even has front outside pockets specifically for water and snacks! Here are the items I never leave home without:
- Makeup removing wipes
No one wants to workout with a full face of makeup. You’re going to get sweaty; it’s guaranteed. Exercising with full makeup will only lead to clogged pores and breakouts.
2. Avene Thermal Spring Water Spray
Mineral water spray has great skin benefits such as hydration and soothing redness and irritation. Not to mention, it feels really refreshing if you spritz it on after a hot and sweaty workout.
3. Batiste Dry Shampoo
Dry shampoo is perfect for transitioning from the studio to errands or other plans. Unfortunately our busy schedules leave us unable to wash and style our hair every time we exercise. Dry shampoo cleans your hair, removes sweat and leaves your hair feeling fresh and volumized.
4. Body Spray
No one wants to smell your B.O. after a class. Freshen up with some body spray. My favorite is Velvet Sugar from Bath and Body works. The bottles are plastic so they won’t break in your bag. Plus, they are inexpensive and smell great.
5. Mini deodorant
For the same reason as body spray, deodorant reapplication is completely necessary after a hard workout. A mini version can be easily tucked into a pocket of your bag.
6. Hand cream
Lifting weights can cause your hands to be rough and calloused. Hand cream moisturizes and protects your skin and helps repair it after these activities.
7. Trail mix
You never know when hunger will strike so it is best to always be prepared. Keep a ziplock full of trail mix with nuts and dried fruit on hand at all times.
8. Change of clothes
If you’re not going straight home afterwards a change of clothes is always a good idea. Bacteria breeds in your sweaty workout clothes so drying off and putting on dry clothes is for the best.
