It’s that time again! Another Bachelor in Paradise recap comin’ at ya. Things definitely heated up this week in paradise with some drama and twists here and there.
Let’s start with JJ. I have to say JJ really went from zero to hero here. From the reputation as the pompous and arrogant villain from Kaitlyn’s season to the selfless man who gave his rose to a woman he deemed “deserving of love.” JJ was torn between who to give his rose to. He was between beautiful Megan who he had gone on a date with or Juelia who he could save from elimination. Juelia did not want a “pity” rose. In the end, JJ decided to shock everyone by giving Ashley S. his rose instead. Ashley was also in danger of being eliminated and he felt that she deserved a chance to stay. JJ decided to leave his experience in paradise when he realized his heart was still with the girl at home that he broke up with in order to come on the show. We all know it takes a lot for a man to admit making a mistake and him leaving the show because of his is a potentially life altering decision for him. This was a pretty selfless move especially for someone who showed a lack of compassion for anyone on his season of the Bachelorette. It showed us that JJ is truly capable of love and having a good heart despite everyone thinking otherwise for so long. I love a good redemption story and I think JJ has realized something about himself that will hopefully give him some serious potential as a husband for that girl back home.
Juelia– Since Juelia got screwed over, Chris Harrison allows her to bring back Mikey to explore if there is a connection there. Chris Harrison you are a stand up guy! Everyone is glad that Juelia will get a second chance.
Carly & Kirk– still boring.
Jade & Tanner– I’m rooting for them, I really am. They have some similar qualities. They’re both sane (as sane as you can be on a reality dating show), on the quiet side, naturally attractive, and kind of plain and forgettable. They seem to be a good match. In an ideal world they will get married, live quiet lives, and have beautiful (but also plain and forgettable) babies. Jade stays out of drama and Tanner has been the voice of reason. His interviews are always given with a level head and he has said all the right things. Both of them are there for the right reasons and are really into each other so I am excited to see what’s in store for them.
Ashley I & Jared– Can’t say I didn’t see this one coming. Jared ends things with Ashley because he thinks her feelings for him are stronger than how he feels for her. Really?! We had no idea! At least he did the right thing and ended it early before leading her on any further. It was blatantly obvious to everyone that Ashley was feeling it way more than he was. I am not sure how she didn’t notice. Maybe it was because she was too busy crying every 15 seconds over something… Seriously though, this girl has got to read a few pages of “He’s Just Not Into You” or see the movie at least…..Classic case! Hint: If you have to beg a guy to kiss you a second time, it’s probably not a good thing.
So, I bet you’re all wondering what happened with Sam and Joe? Karma definitely made Joe it’s bitch tonight that’s for sure. Joe owns up to his contact with Sam before the show and takes the blame for everything that had happened. Sam allows Joe to take the blame and doesn’t admit to having any part in their “plan.” Joe threatens to show everyone the texts that Sam had sent previously that told him to do whatever it
took to get a rose so they could meet when she arrived.
Sam breaks up with Joe because she can’t stand all of the “drama” that has surrounded their relationship. What a 180! Last week they were getting hot and heavy in the hot tub and now Sam wants nothing to do to him. Seems a little too coincidental since the break up happens as soon as Nick Peterson arrives…
Nick Peterson. Add him to the list of men that Sam “chatted” with before Paradise. He asks Sam on a date and she says no. Nick is shocked by this since they had been texting for months and had told him she would say yes if asked on the show. It seems like she has some guilt and feels the need to end things with Joe before pursuing the other guys.
You almost want to feel sorry for Joe. Maybe for a second…but then you realize that watching Joe squirm is way better. The player got PLAYED and it is awesome. He got dropped like a hot potato. Still, Samantha needs to take partial blame for her role in all of this drama and stop acting like little Miss. Innocent. I mean, come on Sam that hot tub handy you gave Joe last week shows you are anything BUT innocent. Your mother was probably watching that! It’s pretty clear that she was sick of being the overlooked hot girl from Chris’ season and was preparing to make a name for herself in paradise. She texted every bachelor alum under the sun in order to make sure she got noticed. It’s interesting how the girl is playing the men for once but it’s still an unfair advantage when you speak to everyone before you even go on the show. She set up the base for relationships before even arriving in paradise. We get it Sam, you’re beautiful and everyone wants you but you kind of need to get over yourself.
Later on, Justin (Kaitlyn’s season) arrives and asks Sam on a date to which she says yes. This leaves Joe looking like he’s about to blow a gasket. 3 weeks ago no one knew who Sam was and now every guy is going after her. I wonder when the guys will realize that physically she’s a 10 but her personality is a 2 at best. Either way, it seems like she might be outsmarting them for now. She duped Joe for his rose and now is getting to date every guy in the pack. Sam is the power leader of this group right now and she is owning it. But what comes up must go down…and I am sensing Sam’s downfall rapidly approaching in the future.
