If you’ve met me in person, you already know that I’m a shorty. Standing at just 5’0, I’ve been known to most of my friends and family as “peanut”or “little one” for my entire life. Since getting your knees done isn’t a thing quite yet, I’ve always had to look for creative ways to make myself look taller. I’ve already been through the phase of wearing 6 inch heels night after night. It left me scarred; I avoid heels pretty often now aside from the occasional wedge. Instead, I’ve found the perfect solution; an optical illusion with vertical stripes.
“Legs for days” is a phrase that has haunted me for most of my (short) adult life. It’s a fantasy; something I would always want but never have. But here, with these pants I could have it all (or at least look like I do). Vertical stripes are perfect for those who are “vertically challenged.” They add length and make you appear much taller. Sometimes, I wish that more clothing came with vertical rather than horizontal stripes. I would prefer the lengthening effect over the wider effect of horizontal stripes. Trust me, if there were more options my closet would be full of them.
I knew when I saw these pants at Zara that they would be the perfect pair. They are light & summery; perfect for vacation or a day out boating. The fit is super comfortable which is one of the most important things in any outfit. I’m constantly on the look for casual chic pieces that are comfortable enough to get me through my busiest days. They run a little big so I went with a size XS and honestly felt like I could wear an XXS. We all know how quick the turn over is at Zara so make sure to run and get these before they’re all gone!
